Michael P. Behringer is a founding member and Managing Director of Apprise Media LLC, an investment-management company focused on the media and information sector and Vice Chairman and General Counsel of its Canon Communications LLC unit.

Mr. Behringer has more than 15 years of investment and operational experience in the publishing, internet, event, television and video industries. At Apprise, he led the acquisition and development of three platform companies. Canon Communications is a leading global, B-to-B company active in trade shows, magazines and digital media. The Beckett Media LP and Action Pursuit Group LLC units, which together form Apprise Enthusiast Media, cover various consumer niches through a variety of media formats.

Prior to establishing Apprise, Mr. Behringer was Executive Vice President of ApartmentGuide.com, and General Manager of the Real Estate and Finance Network, the world’s leading provider of marketing and b-to-b services for the apartment and home industries. Its properties and services included Apartmentguide.com, Newhomeguide.com, Realestate.com, Rentals.com and Domania.com. Prior to that, he served as Managing Director, corporate development and Assistant General Counsel at PRIMEDIA Inc., the parent company of ApartmentGuide.com, where he was responsible for acquisitions, divestitures and strategic investments involving PRIMEDIA's publishing, Internet, video and television properties.

Mr. Behringer is a pioneer in the field of video-on-demand. He was a senior member of the management team that launched Discovery Channel's Your Choice TV, the first service to offer video-on-demand television programming on a pay-per-view basis. He began his career at Dewey LeBouef (fka Dewey Ballantine) where he specialized in private equity and mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Behringer received a JD cum laude from the University of Michigan School of Law, and an AB cum laude from Columbia University. He was a Visiting Research Scholar and Lecturer at the Eötvös Loránd School of Law in Budapest, Hungary, and served as an adviser to the Hungarian political party, Fidesz. Mr. Behringer is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
